Tread the boards at Langstone - Havant play launches casting and invites anyone in the community to come along
Created on 09/03/2011 10:05:00

The Havant Literary Festival has secured an award from the Big Lottery Fund to stage a play in May 2011 and they are holding open auditions for the community on March 27th at Langstone Technology Park.

‘Bob and Doris Are Not Afraid’ by Havant writer Jacquie Penrose is a light-hearted look at how not to deal with the potential problems of climate change, to be performed by local professional theatre company, SOOP. In addition to the five professional actors, they are looking for a ‘community cast’ of up to thirty people to be in the production.

They stress that previous theatre experience is not necessary.

The launch meeting for this casting is at Langstone Technology Park on Sunday 27 March 2pm – 5pm. Along with some rehearsals, the actual performances will take place in Langstone Technology Park over the weekend of 21 - 22 May and anyone will be able to purchase tickets in advance. Further details will be available about this nearer the time.

WANT TO FIND OUT MORE?

Whether you are keen to be involved or know someone in the locality who would be, please email Jpenrosed@aol.com directly who will be able to provide more information about the auditions.

Alternatively, for business tenants at Langstone Technology Park, members of the production team will be in the restaurant from 11.30 on Friday 11 March with information about how to get involved.

This is a really exciting community initiative in Havant and the production company would love for as many people in the Havant community and business community to be involved as possible.
